DentistPDX is a multi-media maverick and licensed tattoo artist from Chicago now based in Portland, Oregon who creates neo-traditional Americana art through the lens of a pop culture enthusiast turned urban decorator. Since establishing himself in the Pacific Northwest in 2017, DentistPDX has evolved from his 'Bare Bonez' origins of vinyl stickers and wood cut panels to becoming a self-taught tattoo practitioner continuing his family's dental legacy in an unexpectedly artistic way. His work consists of a vibrant fusion of 60s/70s Batman cartoons, Pee-Wee Herman's adventures, and classic creature features that aims to deliver 'a new, and more satisfying experience while sitting in the chair'—transforming the traditionally anxiety-inducing dental visit into an opportunity for permanent personal expression with the democratic philosophy that art inspiration should be shared directly with the people.
